PauPau @ Blue Reef, Straits Quay

I love Christmas the most. Yes! today is Christmas Eve and Santa Claus is coming to town. Straits Quay has well decorated for the Christmas theme too. A huge Christmas tree with nice lighting and decoration.

Besides, they also have decorate "Candy land" too. This not only attracted for kids, even adults also enjoy taking photo of the candy land as memory.

Today we are going to try out Blue Reef Fish & Chips. There are variety of choices especially fishy, but they also served chicken, pasta and lamb chop too. Very well decoration and yet cozy atmosphere. 

Today Blue Reef have special Christmas & New Year Menu.

Grilled Salmon
Grilled Salmon is served with mashed potato and broccoli. The combination of the salmon with the yellow sauce was so great. The mashed potato are creamy and tasty as well. Overall the food portion sized was normal.

Chicken Cordon Bleu
Chicken Cordon Bleu is served with French Fries and vegetables. One bite of it, you can feel the melted cheese flowing out. I also like the French Fries lots. Non oily and very crispy. Overall the food portion sized was big.

After fulfilled with a great lunch, we wandering around and was attracted to this shop - Sugar. This is a very wonderful cake deco and mainly in pure white color.

Well, it's a very organized shop and mainly about baking products. They do sell various type of flour, baking powder, sugar and also nuts.

I like their packing as it is very environmental. So, I bought few packs to show my support to them. I even reused their paper bag for my shopping goods. Really environment safe!

PauPau @ Bella Marino, Straits Quay

Straits quay is located at Seri Tanjung Pinang, by the E&O group. The architecture of the building are very classy and mainly in white.

Sitting aside and enjoying the sea-view of Straits Quay are so calming. What a wonderful day! At straits quay, you can eat, play, chill, shop and even sail. Sometimes, they have some interesting event for the weekend too.

Little Zayne was so happy and keep running around. Looks like he is really enjoy it. At last, little zayne is starting to feel exhausted and rest by the bench.

It's dinner time now. There are various type of restaurant in Straits Quay, Western, Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Oriental or Local cuisine. Today we have planned to try out Italian cuisine at Bella Marino.

The restaurant is very decorative in Italian style and the environment are quite cozy.
There are 3 course set dinner serving now at Bella Marino, with 6 choices of main course and price from RM35.90++ onward.

Soup of the day - Potato soup. The potato was creamy but too salty. Soup portion are quite small, only half of the bowl.

Panfried Halibut (imported fish) with tomato cravy served with potato and vegetable. The combination was so delicious. But the food portion sized was small and cannot fill up my stomach. 

Spaghetti Alla Bella Marino is a round strands of long pasta with  prawns, clams and asparagus in white garlic sauce. The spaghetti portion sized is quite big, but the prawn and clams sized are small.

Flat pasta with minced beef in tomato sauce. The taste was like normal bolognese. Overall food portion sized was big, but the minced beef was so little.

At last, desserts Tiramisu Alla Bella Marino is served. It's a sponge cake layered with coffee and mascarpone cheese. One bite on the Tiramisu, one thought in my mind, "Oh my god! It's was so great. It's melted on my tougue straight away. Certainly, this small piece of Tiramisu cannot fulfill my desired as it was too delicious. Overall, this is a satisfied dinner at Bella Marino tonight, just that their food portion size are too small.

PauPau Seafood Udon

Udon is a type of thick wheat flour noodle in Japanese cuisine. Normally I only order "Ramen" when dine in at Japanese restaurant. So, this is the first time PauPau cook and try Udon soup. Udon is usually served hot in mildly flavor broth soup based. Again, PauPau has slightly changes the normal soup to tomato soup based. Today, I will share PauPau Seafood Udon with you.

1/2 cauliflower
1/2 cabbage
1 potato
4 crabmeat Stick
2 tomatoes
Fresh prawn
1 pack Udon noodles
1 canned tomato soup / puree

Cook Udon noodles in boiled water for 1min. Drain, rinse and then put in a bowl.
Now, can start cook the tomato soup. Add in the tomato soup and 3 cup of water. Stir it well.
Add in cauliflower, potato, cabbage and mushroom. 
Wait until the cauliflower, potato and cabbage is cooked, then only add in crabmeat stick, tomatoes and fresh prawn. 
The soup is ready when the prawn is turned to red color. Do not overcooked the prawn in order to maintain the freshness taste of the prawn.

Optional: Traditional Japanese Udon has a raw egg placed in the center of the soup. You may add this if you like the raw egg.

PauPau @ Harvest In Cafe, Irrawaddy Road

Harvest In Cafe is a classy cafe that serving western and oriental cuisine. Well, I was impressed of the interior design and the cosy environment.

Harvest In cafe served lunch from 11am till 3.30pm and dinner from 6pm till 10pm. They do have separate menu for lunch and dinner. For the lunch menu, the western main course starts from RM7.90 onward. For oriental / local, I like their "Tomyam seafood fried rice" very much.
For the dinner menu, the main course starts from RM9.90 onwards and they did not served oriental cuisine for dinner.

For dinner, you may add RM4.90 in order to get a soup of the day with garlic bread, drink and dessert.

Choices of drinks such as tea, lemon tea (cold / hot) or coffee.

Dessert for tonight is chocolate ice cream.

Harvest In Cafe provides various choice of main course, chicken, fish, beef, lamb and even pasta.
Here's come the main course of the night. The food portion sizes to me was just nice. Overall the main course are great and the price are reasonable and no service charges.

Strictly Pork free.

PauPau Tandoori Chicken

This is the first time PauPau cook tandoori chicken, and PauPau personally feel the aroma of the tandoori chicken was so great. Traditional indian tandoori chicken is in red color as they add in the red food coloring. I have made some changes in PauPau Style Tandoori Chicken, instead of red food coloring, I have replaced it with yellow ginger powder.

10 skinless chicken for more healthy (Optional, you may use boneless chicken or sliced breast meat)
Himalaya salt (as per taste)
1 lemon juice
1 cup natural yogurt
200gm onion skinless, 200gm garlic skinless finely blended
2 teaspoon pepper powder
2 teaspoon yellow ginger powder
2 tablespoon oregano powder
2 tablespoon ginger powder
2 tablespoon mustard powder
1 pack tandoori powder
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (I did not add this as some of my family members cannot take spicy food)

Remove the excess oil from the chicken. Then, wash it and placed the chicken in a dish.
Sprinkle some Himalaya salt and lemon juice on the chicken.
Mix well the yogurt, blended onion and garlic, pepper powder, yellow ginger powder and tandoori powder in a bowl.
Spread the yogurt mixture on the chicken thoroughly.
Cover the chicken and refrigerate for at least 1day. (But, normally I will seasoned it for 1 week, as the longer the better taste)
Lastly, oven the seasoned tandoori chicken at 220C for 40mins.

P/S: Oven for 40mins for juicy and tender tandoori chicken. Otherwise, oven for at least 1hour for a dry tandoori chicken.

This is the second time I cooked tandoori chicken (dry style). Oven it at higher heat 240C for 1hour. Of course, you could oven longer time depends on the chicken size too.
For me, I'm still prefer the juicy and tender tandoori chicken.
