PauPau @ Claypot Restaurant, Tanjung Bungah (re-visit)

Claypot Restaurant is located at Tanjung Bungah and they are mainly using clay pot cooking technique in most of their dishes. Actually I am quite fancy for their hearty-warming claypot home dishes, that is the main reason urging me to re-visit Claypot Restaurant again.

The environment are quite spacious, as beside dining area inside the restaurant, they also provide open air garden dining area at outside.


Aromatic Crispy Duck
The Aromatic Crispy Duck is consist of shredded duck meat, spring onion, cucumber, popiah skin and special sauce. 


Spread over some special sauce on the popiah skin, then add on duck meat, spring onion and cucumber. Just roll it up. 

The duck meat goes well with the special sauce, and every bites are quite crunchy because of the spring onion and cucumber.

Thai Style Fried Tofu (RM 6 Nett)
The Thai Style Fried Tofu is a deep fried tofu with thai sauce and topped up with parsley. The fried tofu are quite crispy and the tofu still remains fluffy inside. For the thai sauce, it has sweet and sour taste with mild spiciness.

Claypot Vinegar Pork - Medium (RM 15 Nett)
The Claypot Vinegar Pork is cooked with garlic, vinegar and lots of dried chilly. The pork is quite tender and flavorful in the thick gravy. I love the claypot vinegar pork very much as it has the right combinations taste of sourish and spiciness.

Claypot Curry Fish (RM 20 Nett)
The Claypot Curry Fish is served with fish cube, lady finger. chilly and curry leaves. The semi-thick curry are quite spicy but less fragrant, and it is quite oily for my liking.

Stir Fried Sambal Long Bean with Prawn (RM 10 Nett)
The Sambal Long Bean is a stir fried long bean with sambal and prawn. The long bean are still crunchy and quite fragrant with the sambal.

PauPau Dark Soy Pork

There is no other proper name for this dish, so i named it as "Dark Soy Pork" which are the two core ingredients for this recipe. Hope that you will like this recipe too!


Ingredients: (to marinate)
500gm lean pork (thinly slice)
2 tablespoon light soy sauce
1/2 tablespoon dark soy sauce
1/2 tablespoon black pepper powder

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 ~ 2 tablespoon light soy sauce (to taste)
1/2 tablespoon dark soy sauce
1/2 tablespoon black pepper powder
1 tablespoon honey
50ml water
1 tablespoon tapioca powder

Ingredients: (As Deco)
Boiled broccoli 
1 teaspoon almond nibs

Directions:
Thinly slice the lean pork.
Marinate with light soy sauce and dark soy sauce.
Add in black pepper powder.
Heat up olive oil and stir fry the marinated pork until cooked.



Add in light soy sauce.
Add in black pepper powder.
Add in dark soy sauce and stir well.
Add in some water.


Simmering the pork with medium heat.
Close the lid and continuous simmering the pork until tender.
Add in tapioca powder and stir well until you see a thick gravy.
Add in honey and stir well.


Served hot with steamed rice.

PauPau @ Thai-Food Restaurant, Batu Lanchang

Thai-Food Restaurant is a newly opened Thai cuisine restaurant at Batu Lanchang. It is just located right opposite of the Batu Lanchang market.


Lemongrass Drink (RM 1.50 Nett)
The Lemongrass Drink has semi-strong lemongrass scent and the sweetness are just fine.


Apple Kerabu (RM 9 Nett)
The Apple Kerabu is consists of green apple, onion, carrot, crispy seaweed, chilly and mixed with sweet and sour sauce. The sourish and the sweetness of green apple kerabu are quite appetizing.

Pandan Chicken - Small (RM 14 Nett)
The Pandan Chicken is a deep-fried marinated chicken cube wrapped with pandan leaves. The pandan chicken are quite aromatic and tender too.

Otak - Otak (RM 18 Nett)
The Otak Seafood is a steam cake of clam, fish slice, squid and cabbage in coconut milk. The otak seafood are rich in coconut milk and quite spicy too.

Prawn Omelette (RM 8 Nett)
The Prawn Omelette is a pan fried omelette with prawn, onion and spring onion. The prawn omelette are quite fragrant and quite fluffy inside. However, the prawn size are too small.

Tomyam Seafood - Small (RM 18 Nett)
The Tomyam Seafood is served in a hot pot with prawn, fish slice, mushroom, onion, lemongrass and parsley. This semi-thick tomyam soup are quite flavorful and spicy enough.

PauPau @ Eastern Wishes Cafe, I-Avenue

Eastern Wishes Cafe is located at I-Avenue, Bayan Lepas, just a few shops away from JPJ. Eastern Wishes is served for Nanyang and Thai cuisine. Their dining place are quite spacious with cozy ambiance.


Special Sandy Mantis Prawn (RM 13 Nett)
The Special Sandy Mantis Prawn is a deep-fried mantis prawn and stir fry with salted egg yolk and curry leaves. The mantis prawn is quite fragrant and very rich in salted egg yolk.

Claypot Bean Curd (RM 9 Nett)
The Claypot Bean Curd is cooked with bean curd, baby corn, green pea, mushroom, carrot, prawn and spring onion in a clay pot. Overall the claypot bean curd are taste fine.

Crispy Kangkung (RM 6 Nett)
The Crispy Kangkung is a deep fried kangkung with batter. The kangkung are crispy enough, but it is quite oily to my liking.

Stuff Chicken Wing (RM 9.50 Nett)
The Stuff Chicken Wing is a deep fried boneless chicken wing stuffed with minced meat and mixed vegetables. The stuff chicken wing are quite crispy and the stuffed minced meat are quite tasty too.

Fu Yong Omelette (RM 7 Nett)
The Fu Yong Omelette is served with onion, prawn, shredded carrot and spring onion. However, the omelette are less fragrant and the prawn are too small.

PauPau @ Sawara Restaurant, Burmah Road

Sawara Restaurant is located at the corner shophouse along Burmah Road, exactly the same row as Maybank. They are specialty in claypot fish head, steamboat and Yong Tao Fu with their homemade fish paste. Recently, they have newly opened another branch at Crystal Point too.


Besides claypot fish head, steamboat and Yong Tao Fu, they do have wide range of food such as ramen, noodle, rice and so on.


We have ordered a Claypot Fish Head and two plates of Shanghai noodle. Their sourish and spicy chilli sauce is quite appetizing. 


Claypot Fish Head Soup - Small (RM 45 + 5% Charges)
The Claypot Fish Head Soup is cooked with fish head, homemade fish paste, tofu, chinese cabbage, cabbage, spring onion, and lots of garlic in a large clay pot. The soup is very flavorful with the sweetness of the fish head and the soup is getting richer if continuous boiling it with the rest of the ingredients. Their homemade fish paste is quite springy and with hint of parsley taste.

Shanghai Noodle (RM 2 + 5% Charges)
The Shanghai Noodle is goes well with the fish head soup too.
