500gm dried shrimp (soaked, cleaned, and pound until fine)

10 kaffir lime leaves (Chopped finely)
2 tablespoon tamarind paste (mix with water and strain to get the juice)
1 piece belacan
1 tablespoon brown sugar

Add in lemongrass first, follow by shallots, garlic, turmeric, chilies, add some water and then blend in the blender or food processor. Blend until you get the smooth paste.
Heat the olive oil. Pour in all the blend paste and belacan.
Stir it until the blend become thick.
Add in tamarind juice.
Continue to stir it under low heat.

Add in the pound dried shrimp.
Stir well.
Add in kaffir leaves and continue to stir until it is fragrant.

PauPau Grilled Multigrain Shroom Patty

Sometimes we do craving for burger, but for me, I am rather to make my own healthy patty than eating the processed frozen burger patty or the fast food burger. And today I am going to make this new burger recipe with multi-grain. Hope that you will enjoy this "Grilled Multigrain Shroom Patty" as much as I do!

500 gram minced meat
250 gram fresh shitake mushroom (sliced thinly)
50 gram almond nibs
2 ~ 4 tablespoons ground flaxseed powder (depends on your liking)
2 ~ 4 tablespoons white sesame seed
2 ~ 4 tablespoon black sesame seed
2 ~ 4 pieces wheat biscuits (optional)
2 onions (finely chopped)
2 eggs white
1 egg yolk
Bonito flakes

Ingredients: (to marinate)
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 ~ 5 tablespoon light soy sauce (to taste)
2 ~ 5 tablespoon worcheshire sauce (to taste)
3 tablespoon garlic powder
3 tablespoon black pepper powder
3 tablespoon dried parsley
3 tablespoon dried basil
3 tablespoon dried oregano
2 ~ 5 tablespoon cayenne powder (depend on your preference of spiciness)
4 tablespoon fruity sauce

Add minced meat and all the ingredients to marinate into a large bowl. Mix well.
Add in shitake mushroom, flaxseed, white and black sesame seed together and mix well.
Keep it in the fridge and let it marinate for at least 2 hours. (for the best result, normally I will marinate it overnight.)
Add onions and mix well.
Make a hole in the middle of the marinated meat, add egg white and egg yolk.
Lightly beaten the egg and then gradually stir it clockwise to outward, until the marinated meat is mix well with the beaten egg.
Mashed the wheat biscuit finely.
Grab the minced meat mixture and use your hand to make a ball shape.
Use the other hand and gentle press the meatball into a burger shape.
Dip the meat patty with the wheat biscuit.
Brush the tray with olive oil and place the meat patty on top of it.
Bring it to oven or grill until both side is become golden brown.
When you flip over the other side for oven or grill, you may add some honey or fruity sauce on top of it.
Sprinkle bonito flakes on top of the meat patty.
Served with bread or rice.

PauPau @ Kizuna Japanese Restaurant, Bay Avenue

Kizuna Japanese Restaurant is a newly opened Japanese restaurant which is located at bay avenue (the third row of shop-lots behind KWSP), Bayan Lepas. Kizuna first outlet (MASA Japanese Restaurant) is opened at United Kingdom and it has been established for about 4 years, now they are expanding the second outlets at Penang.

Kizuna is very passionate in serving for good quality of foods and they are very concerned about the customer's feedback regarding the food acceptance from the locals. As they are trying their best to perfection their cuisine to suit the local's appetite.

Previously there is an amazing cash voucher deal for Kizuna Japanese Restaurant from EziVoucher, and gladly I have grabbed many of it, as this restaurant not only have friendly staff, but they also served for high quality of food.

Salmon Sashimi (RM 25 + 10% Charges)
The Salmon Sashimi is a 6 pieces nicely cut salmon sashimi, served with pickled ginger. The salmon sashimi is very fresh and so delicious when dipped with their self-made wasabi with soy sauce. But, it would be best to have a more thickness cut of each salmon.
