PauPau @ Javrie Restaurante & Pizzeria, Gurney Paragon

Gurney Paragon is not only a great place for shopping, but it is also a place that gathered various types of restaurant, cafe and even local delicacies in JustFood. Furthermore their multi-level parking rates are very reasonable, thus I am totally enjoy hang around there lately.

And today we are going to hunt for Italian cuisine at Javrie Restaurant, which is located at 5th floor (opposite of Bentley Music), just right beside the JustFood food-court.

Another entrance which is just beside the exit of the JustFood.

The environment is quite cozy and nice ambiance with the cold blue background which attached with paintings on the wooden board.

Creamy Chicken Arrabiata (RM 20.80 + 10% Charges)
The Creamy Chicken Arrabiata is a red spicy pepper sauce spaghetti with onion, mushroom and marinated chicken.

The spicy pepper sauce is taste like tomato sauce with mild spiciness, which is quite appetizing. But i feel that the chicken is less aromatic, and the portion of the chicken is too little.

Seafood Marinara (RM 25.80 + 10% Charges)
The Seafood Marinara is a homemade red sauce spaghetti with fresh seafood like prawns, mussels and squids.

The homemade red sauce is taste sourish, as a spicy-eater (that's me!) definitely I am prefer the one with spiciness. And the two big prawns that drew my attentions from the start, is kind of upset me as the prawn flesh is not springy but soft.

Cheesy Ocean Baked Pasta (RM 28.80 + 10% Charges)
The Cheesy Ocean Baked Pasta is a baked spaghetti in creamy sauce with prawns, mussels and squids; topped up with mozzarella cheese.

This dish is so fabulous and the melted cheese is so thick until I have to worry that how many sets of Jumping Jack I have to performed to burn off those calories. But the next seconds after the first bite, then another thought ~ Who cares, enjoy the melted cheese pasta first!

And the mussels is so delicious and juicy compare to the dish above.

PauPau Papaya Chicken Soup

Papaya (angels of fruits), is rich in papain which is an enzyme that helps digest protein. This enzyme is more concentrated when the papaya is unripe. Thus, it is better to have a unripe papaya when boiling papaya chicken soup.

Obviously the papaya that I am going to use is consider ripe, however the soup is taste naturally sweet and nourishing.

1/2 papaya (peeled, unseeded and cut into smaller pieces.)
1 whole skinless chicken; cut into 4 pieces (I am using Kampung Chicken)
6 ~ 8 red date (unseeded)
Pinch of salt

Fill in filtered water into cooking pot until half full and bring to boil.
Add chicken into the boiling water with open lid. Keep boiling for about 10 minutes.
Keep boiling the soup with low heat for at least 2 hours, with close lid.
Add in cut papaya into the soup and continue to boil it for about 10 ~ 20 minutes or until the papaya is soft.
Served hot.

Grilled Italian Herbs Chicken (RM 15.90 Nett)
Well, their grilled Italian herbs chicken is still remains the good taste, just like my review on previous post. But, their mashed potato taste even nicer now and I can see that they did some improvement on their food decorations as well.

Special Guest Post from Edith @ Sushi Zanmai, Low Yat Plaza (KL)

Today I am going to share something different, so how different is it? Yes, it is kind of big different as now I am going to post something out of Penang island. And I am gladly to have Edith Domschy as my special guest to share her food review at Sushi Zanmai, Low Yat Plaza (KL).

How coincidences as I just went and tried Sushi Zanmai, Gurney Paragon last two week. And it is definitely a great place to have delicious sushi at reasonable price. Besides, I love the way they have sized their food portion for selection either small or large. So that, we still can have some spaces to try out variety of dishes.

Below is the guest post about Sushi Zanmai, Low Yat Plaza (KL).

Guest Post written by Edith ~

Sushi for dinner? Best sushi place in KL

I was never a big fan of sushi – I’ve always had it with your regular salmon, shrimp or avocado, and thought that was pretty much all to it – until I discovered there can be a large variety to choose from, and it can be truly exciting, not to mention delicious! On this journey of mine towards rediscovering sushi, Sushi Zanmai played a big role.

Sushi Zanmai is a really nice place when it comes to the physical location. It’s a little bit on the fancy side, with big imposing tables with rows and rows of seats for big party groups. It has the regular conveyor belt where you can marvel at the amazing sushi dishes and get a taster of what to expect; moreover, the dishes come with a complementary green ice tea, which gets refilled every time. The service is great, too. So everything being set, it’s time to get your orders!

They have a wide variety of non-vegetarian dishes, but surprisingly, also a wide array of vegetarian ones. Each one I tasted was delicious, and with the exception of the more common dishes such as fried vegetables or fried rice, everything looks presentable and tastes great.

My favorite ones would have to be the mushroom sushi, the bean curd sushi and the fried mashed potatoes with corn. Even though they are small portions, they end up filling you to the rim, and in addition, they are also very wallet friendly. Amazingly enough, I have never paid more than RM25 for a more than satisfying dinner; this is to say, all the dishes are surprisingly cheap, to the point where you can get RM1,80 worth of sushi dish. They serve the regular miso soup as well, which is quite delicious, and have a large variety of sushi with salmon, chicken, crab, shrimp, tuna and other seafood. Whenever I order something new, it’s always an exciting discovery, both in terms of the way the dish is presented and how it tastes. But so far, only good experiences! The only slightly weird thing is that they charge for wet napkins … But they can take my 20 cents for that, as long as I don’t get food poisoning or other tummy issues. It has happened to me quite a couple of times with other restaurants – I might have a sensitive tummy, and if you suffer from something similar, you might want to look at the causes here – but I have never had any issues at Sushi Zanmai, and I warmly recommend it anyone. Especially if you’re not crazy about sushi, like I wasn’t in the beginning, you might change your mind like that!

PauPau @ Janxden Greenlife Cafe, Chow Thye Road

Janxden Greenlife Cafe is serving for healthy vegetarian cuisine, which is located at Chow Thye Road, Georgetown, just right behind of the Harvest In Cafe. Recently they have also expand their second outlet at All Seasons, Farlim.

Wooden dining place with nice greenish wall color background, overall the environment are quite cozy too.

Creamy Mushroom Fettuccine (RM 11.60 Nett)
The Creamy Mushroom Fettuccine is consists of mushroom, carrot, green capsicum with white sauce.

The fettuccine with the creamy white sauce is quite delicious, but the mushroom portions is kind of little to me.

(Rate: 3/5)

Green Garden Rice (RM 8.90 Nett)
The Green Garden Rice is consists of brown rice with stir fry of mixed vegetables (cauliflower, carrot, sweet pea and kale) with mushroom and vegetarian mutton, served with a small slice of tofu and special sauce.

The stir fry of the mixed green is taste fine, and my most favorite is the vegetarian mutton, but there is only three of it, and i wish it could be more of it.
