PauPau @ D Fat Mona Lisa Cafe, Georgetown

D Fat Mona Lisa is a bungalow house which is located along Free School road (just opposite side of the famous fried banana fritters stall). Well, ample car park is available there and thus no worry of finding car park especially when it is late lunch for us (now what we want is FOOD!!!).

Outdoor and indoor with nice ambiance

The dining place is very spacious and they have three different concept of dining area (Casual and cosy dining place, Unique brick walled background dining place and comfy sofa area which is best for enjoying a cuppa coffee).

Weekday Tea Time Promotion

Grilled BBQ Chicken (RM 15.90 + 6% GST)
The Grilled Chicken is consists of grilled chicken with BBQ sauce, served with potato salad and green vegetables.

The grilled chicken portion is quite small (this is actually feedback from my father who ordered this). The BBQ sauce is just fine, nothing much to brag on for this dish.

Espresso Chicken (RM 18.90 + 6% GST)
The Espresso Chicken is consists of a grilled chicken with espresso, served with potato salad and green vegetables. Well, actually I am more opt for their baked potato as side dish than potato salad (Why? As I am really love hot dishes than cold dishes ^o^ ).

Charcoal grilled chicken was my first impression when it is served to us. Well, my father ate the skin that I removed from the grilled chicken. And he said that the skin taste is very sweet.

The chicken meat is actually did not well marinated (as all goes to the skin), but the chicken is quite tender. For the sauce, it has strong sweetness taste with mild bitterness. This espresso chicken is their signature dish, so you may give it a try (perhaps it suit your tastebud), but certainly not my liking.

Mushroom Carbonara (RM 16.90 + 6% GST)
The Mushroom Carbonara is consists of carbonara spaghetti with mushroom and trio colour capsicum.

The carbonara sauce is very creamy and rich in flavour. It is so divine and I just cannot stop munching it. This dish is going to be my favourite order list at here.

Self order at their counter. (Cash Term Only)

PauPau @ Goku Sen Japanese Cafe & Bar, Udini Square (Set Lunch)

After my first visit at Goku Sen Japanese Cafe & Bar, I am totally addicted with their Tonkotsu Ramen (slurp slurp.... collagen milky soup ^o^). Three times in a month for revisit this Japanese cafe, and it is considered quite frequent visit for me. You know, there is lots of restaurant and cafe in Penang, furthermore there is still has uncountable newly opened cafe or restaurant.

The environment

Now they still have the 10% discount promotion for set lunch menu and ala carte too.

Tonkotsu Ramen (RM 18.80 + 10% Service Charge)
As usual Tonkotsu Ramen will be my pick again for today lunch, it is just too hard for me to resist this collagen milk soup.

Salmon Steak Plate (RM 18.80 + 10% Service Charge)
The Salmon Steak Plate is consists of grill salmon fillet, served with steamed rice, deep fried crabstick, shredded cabbage and mayonnaise. This set is come along with miso soup as well.

The salmon steak is cooked with onion sauce, and the onion sauce is quite flavourful (kind of over for my taste-bud) with mild peppery taste.

Beef Saikoro Steak Set (RM 25.80 + 10% Service Charge)
The Beef Saikoro Steak Set is consists of stir fry sliced beef steak with special sauce, served with steamed rice, miso soup, shredded cabbage and watermelon.

The beef steak is tender and quite aromatic with the special sauce. The special sauce is rich and has strong garlic taste (which is very fragrant). However, the sauce is a bit over flavourful to me.

PauPau @ G Western Cuisine, Komtar Walk

It was around 4:50pm, and we are planning for our early dinner after a fruitful shopping grab from Prangin Mall. Since we are at town area, so we thought of go for Maxim Dim Sum (which is newly opened at Komtar Walk). After we parked our car, only we realised that Maxim Dim Sum will open at 6pm (ouch... no luck!).

So we just keep on walking and re-decide what to eat again! Along the pathway toward Georgetown White Coffee, there is few newly opened cafe and leisure entertainment. Finally, we decided to try out G Western Cusine which is just opposite side of Georgetown White Coffee.

G Western Cuisine has a very unique interior design with stone wall as background and wooden dining table with carton like chair, which is quite interesting.

The staff is very friendly and inform us to check in to their FB in order to get two free items from choices of toast bread or ice cream.

This is the complimentary toast bread for check in to their FB. Well, this complimentary toast bread looks nice. It is so crispy and taste good with the generous amount of cheese.

Grill Rosemary Garlic Chicken (RM 15.90 nett)
The Grill Rosemary Garlic Chicken is consists of grilled boneless chicken with rosemary garlic gravy, served with mashed potato, coleslaw and vegetables.

The grilled chicken is well marinated and quite flavourful (but slightly salty to my taste bud). The rosemary garlic gravy is fragrant and quite get along with the chicken. Actually this dish is served with french fries, and we have requested if we can change to mashed potato without gravy (and they allowed it). Their mashed potato is very nice with smooth texture.

Pan Fried Chicken with Wild Mushroom Sauce (RM 15.90 nett)
The Pan Fried Chicken with Wild Mushroom Sauce is consists of grilled boneless chicken with wild mushroom sauce, served with mashed potato, coleslaw and vegetables.

The grilled chicken is the same as the above dish, and the different is in the sauce. This wild mushroom sauce is creamy and quite tasty (it is not over flavourful which is suit to my taste bud)

PauPau @ Goku Sen Japanese Cafe & Bar, Udini Square

Goku Sen Japanese Cafe & Bar is a newly opened Japanese restaurant at first floor of Udini Square (which is new shop-lot building beside Tesco Egate). This restaurant is actually owned by a Japanese chef. Although this Japanese restaurant has been opened for few months back, but now only we managed to pay a visit. However, it is not too late for us to visit as now they still have 10% discount on total bill since their opening.

Cosy and comfortable dining area with lots of decorative lanterns.

Tonkotsu Ramen (RM 18.80 + 10% Charges)
Don't know why I always have huge obsesses for tonkotsu ramen, maybe because of the thick, rich cloudy white pork bones broth is too difficult to resist. The most important is that this bones broth is full of collagen too.

The Tonkotsu Ramen is a ramen soup with slices pork, halved hard boiled egg, seaweed sheet and shredded ginger in milky broth. This hearty warming broth is quite rich and tasty. For the ramen itself, is quite springy and not bad.

Tomato Bacon Kushi Yaki (RM 5.80 + 10% Charges)
The Tomato Bacon Kushi Yaki is consists of four wrapped up bacon with cherry tomato. The bacon is quite tender and followed by the juicy cherry tomato, a very perfect match.

Hotate Kushi Yaki (RM 6.80 + 10% Charges)
The Hotate Kushi Yaki is consists of four pieces of scallop with sweet sauce.
